oh my! Hawaii is paradise...but paradise does come with a price. Today, I went outside to check the mail and when I came back inside I closed the door and looked at the wall and a cute little baby gieco was running wild on the wall, inside the house. Later this evening, Zeahne and I are in his room reading a lovely bedtime story about the number 10 and P's & Q's when all of a sudden he yelps and says "look Tita Kimmie on the wall." I look on the wall and what to my amazed eyes do I see?... a ginormous
cockroach...about 2 inches long and 1 inch wide...no kidding! Measure that out on a ruler and you will see what i am talking about! Holy cow was that thing HUGE! So, for someone who does not enjoy bugs and slimy, creepy, crawly creatures anyway...this is way out of my comfort zone. I asked Chris, uhmmm....do we have a problem? Can we call someone to take care of this? He looked at me and laughed. He said....uhhhh sis....every house on this base has these lovely creatures in it! I almost fell down.ahhhhhhhhhh. I did find out though that it is much better to have giecos in your house because
they keep the cockroaches away by eating them and they are supposed to be lucky. I really doubt that the baby gieco had a chance against King Cockroach that is now floating in the sewer system headed out to sea! By the way...if you had a choice it would be giecos, cockroaches and then centipeds. Tonight was one giant science class...I found out that the centiped are poisionous and you really do not want those in or around your house. If you see one, kill it, and carefully dispose of it's body. ekkk! some many bugs.
