We have a baby!:)

Abigail Nichole Inot Holliday

October 30, 2007

4:13pm

Wt: 6lbs 11oz

Ht: 19 1/4 inch long

Delivered by C-Section, mom and baby are doing great!

We went to the hospital on the 29th at 11:30pm after zeraline's water broke at home. Baby Abigail presented face up. Upon checking Zeraline, the doctors could feel the face (nose, eyes, mouth.) instead of the head. she even started to suck on a doctors finger while she was still in the uterus. how awesome. anyway...after a very long night and a very painful 4 hours on the morning of the 30th, 2 epidurals, and no sleep...the decision was made to do a c-section. in one of those pictures, you see on her forhead the big lump. it is a bruise due to the fact that her forward was smashed against zeraline's pelvis! zeraline did a wonderful job! she is SUPER strong. oh yeah...did i mention we were awakened at 6am in the morning by screaming lady in labor next door. the walls are NOT very thick at all. more pictures and videos to come!

Pumpkin Carving time

This is something new for both Zeahne and Zeraline, pumpkin carving. We went out on sunday and picked our pumpkins. Now, we are carving them! Lots of fun. One of the pumpkins was a little rotten and had a horrible smell...in some of the pictures...you can see the yucky smell on our faces. It was lots of fun!

Hey, I am guttin' a pumpkin!

Ewhh...these are slimmy and one of these is kind of smelly

so slimmy and gooey

the first victim

Zeahne is drawing his faces on before he cuts.

pretty good for a first time carver.

Our family of pumpkins. One for mommy, daddy, zeahne, baby abigail and tita kimmie

we lit them up when it turned dark.

Zeahne posin' with the pumps

zeahne took this picture of zeraline and myself, i think he moved the camera during one of the flashes.

zeahne did the left one and zeraline carved the right one

I did both of these

Zeahne carved this one. Isn't it so cute!!

Pumpkin Patch and Carnival

Today after church we went to a pumpkin patch! Yes, I was amazed and surprised also, Hawaii has a pumpkin patch! It was a lot of fun. As most of you who read this blog know, I usually can get to a place...but there might be a u-turn or two in process. Well, Zeahne loves to tell me that "Oh no Tita Kimmie, we are LOST!" He did get to say that a couple of times. Thank goodness gas is so expensive and the weather is warm or else screaming out my window at a red light at the driver next to me to ask directions would be impossible;)

We arrived and Zeahne was so excited. I do have to say Zeraline was way excited also! it is so fun to watch them experience things for the first time that i have been doing my whole life. It really reaffirms that no matter how bad we think we have it, it really isn't that bad! We are blessed to live in America.

Zeahne picked out his pumpkin!

Our first pumpkin!

Ride on pumpkin - he was so excited to ride a horse, he started a little early!

We went to check out and Zeraline was accused (haha) of hiding pumpkin under her dress. Pumpkin for a belly instead of a baby:)

Here Sheep Sheep.

Giddy Up. This was his first time ever on a horse! He had a smile on his face for hours!

We thought for sure he would get off and puke! This is one of those rides that spin you and also let you spin yourself even faster! As you can tell, he was having fun!

I love the expression on the face of this fish!

Pearl City Charger's Football

Zeahne and Zeraline have never been to an American football game. Football being one of my favorite sports to watch, I couldn't wait to take them to a game. I had been looking on the internet for a couple of weeks. This time of year is homecoming and i thought that a homecoming football game would be fun to go to because of the floats, dresses, largeness of the crowd, and wanting to win. So I saw that Pearl City was having their homecoming last night, i looked at their record and they were 5/2. So i figured that would be a good game to take them to.

It was a lot of fun. Zeahne thought at first that the football players were trying to kill each other. Zeraline looked at me and asked why there weren't any rules because everyone kept hitting each other and knocking them down. I told her there were a lot of rules and they were actually playing by them. When they broke a rule that is when a ref would through a yellow flag. We were actually sitting next to the band and right after their fight song they would always play the star wars theme song and zeahne loved that. The cheerleaders were right in front of us and were doing throws, so that was exciting to see. It was the best first game to have gone to! We left after half time because even though he had stayed in the relatively same position for the last three hours, zeahne was getting a little antsy and it was a large crowd and we couldn't just let him go and play somewhere.

Some things that are different than Ohio football. They have cheerleaders and Hula Dancers. the football players from each school SING their fight song to the other team. From Hawaiian tradition, the football players, do chants, grunts, screams, foot stomping, thigh slapping, and chest popping that makes you wonder if hidden in their jerseys are spears and they are going out on the field to defend there tribe. it was actually very interesting and made you think they could have been doing something very similar to this 1000 years ago.

daily life

This is Word International (aka the Filipino church) We meet in a classroom at a school in Pearl City. These people have opened their arms and welcomed me! I am blessed by them. What a precious ohana (family) i have here in hawaii!

Zeahne's chore list for last week! WOOOHOOO!!!!!!!

my wednesday night bible study group (not everyone is here)
Left to right
me, karen, ella, gem, and her husband david (gem and david just learned they are pregnant!)

Beautiful Zeraline at 37 weeks!

Zeahne sleeping with Chris's military hat. i thought it was so cute.

what a gorgeous full rainbow outside our back door. What an amazing God to create a promise for us that we can even see thousands of years later and be reminded daily of!

All is going well here! We had a conference with Zeahne's teacher today and he is doing well in school. He is a young 5 in a class of almost 6 year olds. The teacher and I work talking about how he loves to build things and we joked that he will grow up to be an engineer or architect.

Zeraline is 38 weeks pregnant and doing great. The Filipino church is going to have a baby shower for her this weekend. She is very excited about that.

Granny Holliday (my mom:)) sent a huge box of clothes and lamaze stuff. zeraline was so excited to open the box and look. mom sent some absolutely gorgeous little dresses. zeraline didn't know that dresses came that small. So it was huge blessing.

Zeraline, Zeahne, and myself came up with a chore list for zeahne so that he can earn money and buy himself toys that he really really wants...like a shark ship. that is all the kid talks about! so last tuesday we came up with things that he can do around the house to help and earn money. There are also some basic things like brushing teeth in morning and at night and bath to get him into routine of basic hygiene! He was so proud of himself. he earned $1.50 and he got to put it in his piggy bank.

well...zeraline woke up from a nap this afternoon having contractions! she had been having solid, regular contractions for 4 hours that are consistently 20 min's apart! please be praying for us as we go through out the night. we will leave for the hospital at around 10 min apart. she is thinking about an epidural. so pray for wisdom. pray for zeahne because he will have to stay at a friend's house that he is not a big fan of because they don't have boy toys there. i told him we have his boy toys packed so that he can have them with him when he is there:) he was happy about that!
will keep you updated on news!
