vain and prideful...

so this past week proved that I am a vain person with a pride issue. the whole face rash thing went haywire...by Wednesday my face was twice its normal size....TWICE! it was huge and swollen...and very horrific looking. needless to say...i did not leave the house at all this week from the time I got home sunday to until Friday evening ( the exception being taking and picking zeahne up from school...staying in the car the entire time and going to see the urgent care doctor). I hope i never have to go through that again. I passed up going to a bible study that I was so excited about going to because I didn't want people to stare at me. then i got to thinking about how people with facial deformities or any kind of "difference" face that kind of fear every day. I was so disappointed in myself that I would let something like a stupid face rash keep me from enjoying fellowship and worship. Then I started to think about if a little rash put me on the sideline...what would I do if something big came? Just a little thought. Am I willing to go out looking like a freak in order to trust God and enjoy His blessings that He has given me and the plan He has for me? Or am I so focused on me and what I look like that what God has planned doesn't matter?

Praise the Lord the rash is gone. thank you for your prayers! no more mangos for me:( Zeahne is getting better....still has a cough...but that isn't stopping him from going swimming and playing on the play ground!

Zeraline and I have been talking about baby stuff. she is 35 weeks! So, we have her bag and the baby's bag packed. We also talked about what we should do with Zeahne when she goes into labor. She was thinking we would just bring him with us and he would just chill out in the corner. I suggested that we find someone who can watch him until the baby is born and then I would go get him and keep him at the house. I hope it isn't a cultural thing...I guess i should ask. She doesn't like to ask people for help...sounds familiar:) hehe. so this is for sure stretching her! please be praying for us as the time comes that we can have a plan that works;)

Zeahne and I went swimming today and had lots of fun. this guy was next to us with his kid and zeahne was playing and swimming and he looked at me and said "you have a little fish on your hands." even though he is five, zeahne is so great in the water. He doesn't go out deep because he can't see what is below him and it might be a shark. (his words;) but he does flips and puts his googles on and swims around.

There have been a couple of wrecks that have hit close to home in the last week! please be careful driving. And watch out for the other guy!

update on Chris

Chris arrived safely. he has e-mailed and called Zeraline a couple of times. If she doesn't hear from him she can check the online bank account and tell that he is okay because he is spending money. here is a website that you can check info on about troops in iraq... http://www.balad.afnews.af.mil/ Also, here is his e-mail address if you want to send him an encouraging note. topher_1202@yahoo.com he hasn't sent us his APO, but as soon as he does if you want it, e-mail me and i will send it to you. ksholli1979@yahoo.com

Tamara is coming to visit at the end of next week! woohoo! i am so excited.

Zeahne has had a cold this week and will go to school tomorrow for the first time this week. His teacher told us that he was one a 8 kids out of school this week! i bought airborne the power pixies version. this is the powder that you don't need water for it is like pixie sticks from when we were kids. I attempted to explain this to him that it has vitamins and things that will get him well...all he had to do was sprinkle it on his tongue. So, tita kimmie set the example and pixie away:) yuck! i think he caught the look on my face..he did try it and we got a little down but not very successful:) hehe!

I found out that I am probably allergic to mangos:( saturday afternoon i attempted to cut, peel, and eat a mango but ended making a giganitc mess and gave up...well sunday during church i noticed that i had a rash on my left cheek. monday it hadn't gone away and in fact had spread to all over my face...ekkkkk. yuck. as a nurse horrible fears were circling around in my head of what it could possibly be...from necrotizing fasciitis (look it up....very yucky!) to an outbreak of herpes that i picked up on the city bus...like i said...going a little far fetched....but still worried. so i went to urgent care today and the doctor told me he thinks it is from mangos, a lot of locals break out like this. so with a steriod cream and benedryl hopefully i will start to look more normal. I feel like Slooth from the goonies..."hey you guys!!!!"

please be praying because i am also really contemplating not taking the nursing job because of being here to help zeraline and my family, continue the bible study, get invovled with other bible studies and start one with Meldy and Zeraline. Those will be hard to do when working full time and going to pre-natal visits that are schedule every week for the next 5 weeks and going to birthing classes. i have been going back and forth for the past couple of weeks on whether or not i should take a nursing position. very unsettled and conflicting inner feelings.

Thursday pictures

I don't have the pictures of Hanauma Bay because they are at kodakgallary.com. e-mail me at ksholli1979@yahoo.com if you want me to send you the invite. But here is the drive that amy and i took.

gorgeous turns with trees and vines were the whole drive. this picture says it all!

i love this picture because...one - great view and two - the sign says right turn and the road turns left! and I just realized that i got a rainbow in this picture...look above the road sign. sweet! that wasn't planned.

this is a fantastic view of the above rainbow from a great lookout, Pu'u Ualaka'a State Wayside Park Lookout.

more great view with a few raindrops...that is overlooking honolulu, waikiki, diamond head and the windward side of the ocean.
