Thanksgiving Party Air Force Style
baby abby in her sling carrier that she LOVES!

the fun shark jumping thing they had for the kids

everybody sitting down to some good thanksgiving food

so, there was a raffle going on and we were not going to particpate but at the last minute zeraline talked our friend debbie into buying $10 worth of tickets and that if they won they were going split the money. well...guess who won and split the money. I am not for "gambling" ( even though this raised money for next years thanksgiving) but the two wives who were there who's husbands are in iraq for the holiday's won the prize. This will enable zeraline to buy the re-usable diapers she wants so they can save money on diapers in the long run!

Sweet Potatoe Casserole

from the kitchen of Cinda Z. (Amy Z.'s mom)
Beat together(with a mixer) 2 quarts of canned sweet potatoes, 4 eggs, 3/4 cup milk, 1 Tablespoon vanilla, 1 stick of butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon(rounded) of cinnamon. Spray Pam on baking pan. Pour mix in pan. Topping: Mix(with a fork) 1 cup of brown sugar, a small package of chopped pecans, 1/2 cup flour, 1 stick of butter(room temp), 1tsp cinnamon. Crumble on top of potato mix. Bake at 400 for 45-60min (until bubbly and brown/crunchy looking on top)

the crust pre-baking

the sweet potatoe casserole mix pre-baking, kinda looks like that baby poo!:)

Things in Hawaii that aren't in Ohio

beautiful clouds coming over the mountains

The only banks in Hawaii are hawaiian banks, no mainland banks

even the gas is hawiian!:)

anywhere you are you have a gorgeous view of the mountains in the distance

the cemeteries facinate me. look how extravigant they are.

zippy's is everywhere. no skyline chilly here.

if you see a starbucks...you see a jamba juice. very yummy smoothies!

answered prayer request

I am sleeping in a sweet queen bed. God provided this bed on the side of the road. it is a perfectly good bed. I am sleeping on it and getting GREAT sleep at night. Chris and Zeraline were driving down the road and saw it laying there and took it home. Well, they didn't have sheets for it. They did though have a dust ruffle/sham thing that goes in between the mattresses...well...it fits perfectly over the top mattress and works well as a fitted sheet. I have been looking and praying since i have been here for a set of really cheap queen sheets. But they were always over $20 and i didn't want to pay that much, i really didn't have to have the sheets because the sham thing works. Yesterday at church the pastors wife, Sister Marlene, came up to me and said that she had something that she wanted to give us. She handed me a brand new queen sheet set with fitted and cover sheet and 2 pillow cases. i brought it home excited to show zeraline and we washed and dried them and last night i slept in a bed with proper sheets! God cares about the little things that we care about! Don't be afraid to ask!
